Fortis (Insurance UK) is part of Ageas Group (formerly Fortis Holding SA/NV), an international insurance business of significant scale.
In 2009, Ageas group posted a gross inflow of EUR 15.8 billion, including the non-consolidated joint ventures. At 31 December, Ageas had a core equity of EUR 8.6 billion and benefitted from a pro forma net cash position of EUR 3.0 billion. The insurance activities had a solvency ratio of 202%.
